This stepmother seems to crave the spotlight, but not like a mosquito in a camping site bathroom, more like a wannabe Madonna who needs to be center stage at all times. So it is understandable that her step-daughter does not want her taking up all the attention at her family dinner, so she informs her father that her one request would just be to have their intimate family there, just her siblings and two parents…

Now, as you can imagine, if you take away the stage from her step-mother, where will she perform? She is not very happy with this request, alongside the girl's stepfather. Her whole family knows that if she refuses to let her stepmother attend her celebratory dinner, there is a high chance her father might not attend either. Is that a risk she is willing to take, to ensure that the day she worked towards for 4 years is about her, and only her!

Start with "I'm not changing my mind but the reason why she is not invited is..." I wish you goodluck and hope he understands and if he doesn't it just means he doesn't respect your opinion on things. He should prioritize you specially because it's your day.
